Leaders in Innovation
We’re entrepreneurs. We’re inventors. We’re leaders in innovation. We learn how to create new ideas and couple them with existing ideas – to develop or discover something that no one has thought of before.
Innovation in the Carnegie Mellon community is something that happens every day. From students making a mobile map app for visitors, to young alumni co-founding a company that provides a service that all sporting event managers wish they had. And faculty that continually do groundbreaking work in a variety of fields from health care to next-generation computing. As well as bringing new ideas to the arts – stage, screen, museums – and the literary world.
Carnegie Mellon is an innovation ecosystem – creating an environment in which top talent generates and pursues groundbreaking ideas.
With the support of the Undergraduate Research Office, undergrads have the opportunity to showcase their innovations annually through Carnegie Mellon’s Meeting of the Minds Symposium. Even further – Carnegie Mellon hosts on-campus resources to support the next big idea. The university’s Greenlighting Startups initiative is uniquely designed to back Carnegie Mellon’s culture of entrepreneurship and new business creation.
