Admission Counseling Sessions*
An admission counseling session with the Office of Admission allows rising/current high school seniors** to seek guidance or ask questions of the Office of Admission. Our intention is to assist students who are approaching the time of application, who have questions about Carnegie Mellon's unique colleges/programs, as well as the admission process.
We offer on-campus admission counseling sessions for rising/current high school seniors* during the summer and fall. Register here for an on-campus admission counseling session!
We also offer virtual admission counseling sessions that can be completed via video or phone call. Registration is not currently available for virtual admission counseling sessions. Please check back in the spring for an updated schedule.
Admission counseling sessions last about 20-30 minutes and allow time for parents or families to ask questions.
*Carnegie Mellon's Office of Admission doesn't offer admission interviews nor are the admission counseling sessions evaluative. We only encourage rising/current high school seniors with specific questions about Carnegie Mellon or the admission process to register for an admission counseling session.
**Because the admission counseling session could focus on senior year coursework, recent standardized testing and a student's preparedness for applying to our specific colleges and programs in the coming months, we strongly prefer to only meet with rising seniors.
Alternatives to Admission Counseling Sessions
Various individual schools and departments within Carnegie Mellon offer opportunities for prospective students to tour facilities, attend an information session or meet with faculty or a staff member through department tours and events.
