Priority Waiting List

March 30

If you elect to remain on the Priority Waiting List, you may submit the Waiting List Reply Form via the Where Am I in the Process? portal beginning March 30, 2019.

April 10

If you wish to remain on the Priority Waiting List, we encourage you to submit the Waiting List Reply Form via the Where Am I in the Process? portal by the preferred deadline of April 10, 2019. No deposit is required at this time. If you're offered admission from the Priority Waiting List, you'll be required to post a non-refundable $800 enrollment deposit within a 72 hour period. Any deposits received prior to May 1, 2019 will be returned. Carnegie Mellon makes no guarantees about admission from either of our waiting lists, so you should also enroll at another college or university.

May 1

After the May 1, 2019 enrollment deadline for admitted students, we'll know if any space remains in the freshman class for students on either of our waiting lists. Students that elected to remain on the Priority Waiting List will be contacted on this date if space is available in one of the academic programs they applied to. Students will be asked to write a short response to a writing prompt at this time.

May 6

Students that elected to remain on the Priority Waiting List will be notified of their admission decision via the Where Am I in the Process? portal no earlier than May 6, 2019. Any students offered admission from the Priority Waiting List will be required to post a non-refundable $800 enrollment deposit within a 72 hour period. Students should review their financial aid notification letter on their portal prior to enrollment. At time of enrollment, a student's financial aid award becomes effective immediately.
